Kemper Auto and Home participates in a number of non-profit organizations’ programs and events that increase consumer awareness of many safety issues and public wellbeing. We actively support the missions of the following organizations:
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
Offices all over the country regularly participate in Strides for Change, a MADD-sponsored walking/running event that raises funds for MADD and its mission, “to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking”. KAH’s Dallas office recently raised $16,400 for its local MADD chapter through Strides for Change. Read the whole story. (www.madd.org)
Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS)
Former Kemper Auto and Home President and COO Dale Hammond is now Chairman of
the Board for this organization, whose mission is to “reduce deaths, injuries,
property damage, economic losses and human suffering caused by natural disasters”.

Kids And Cars
Using education and awareness as its driving force, Kids And Cars’ mission
is to ensure no child is injured or dies as a result of being left alone inside
of or around a parked vehicle. (www.kidsandcars.org)
American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (ADTSEA)
The ADTSEA is a “professional association which represents traffic safety
educators” all over the world. ADTSEA creates and publishes policies and
guidelines for educational use. (www.adtsea.org)
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)
IIHS is a “nonprofit, scientific and educational organization dedicated
to reducing the losses -- deaths, injuries, and property damage -- from crashes
on the nation’s highways.” The organization is solely supported by
auto insurance carriers. (www.iihs.org)
Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH)
Dedicated to promoting disaster safety and property loss mitigation, FLASH.org
is a great resource for safety materials such as brochures, information cards,
safety websites and more. (www.flash.org)
Advocates for Highways and Auto Safety (Advocates)
As a partnering company on Advocates’ Board of Directors, KAH supports
the organization’s mission to join consumers, health and safety groups
and insurance companies and agents to make America's roads safer. (www.saferoads.org)
United Way
Kemper Auto and Home also gives back to America’s communities by hosting
a United Way campaign every year. The 2004 campaign brought in more than $80,000
from employees alone. Along with the company’s 50% matching promise and
special fundraising events, Kemper Auto and Home was able to donate $124,000
to United Way chapters nationwide. Support your local United Way chapter by visiting
www.unitedway.org and entering your zip code.
